Electronic Data Collection
Electronic Data Collection (EDC) systems have the potential to improve clinical research by providing enhanced data visibility across sites and multiple studies. In addition, web-based EDC systems provide project team members the ability to access the clinical data in real time to facilitate adaptive trial design. The employment of EDC also significantly reduces many manual processes associated with paper such as double data entry, tracking paper CRFs, and printing, binding and shipping paper CRFs to investigator sites. In addition, studies have shown that the implementation of EDC can result in decreased query rates, reduced data cleaning requirements, fewer monitoring visits to sites as well as significant time savings during database lock.
PharPoint’s staff has a broad spectrum of experience in managing clinical programs that utilize EDC. Our EDC system experience includes Rave, Inform, Oracle RDC, DataLabs, OutcomeLogix, and Medrio. We are able to assist our sponsors in meeting their study goals and timelines by applying best EDC practices to clinical studies. Through our experience and familiarity with EDC systems and vendors, we are able to help our sponsors with EDC system selection and increase the efficiencies our sponsors expect to gain by utilizing EDC for their clinical trials. For each study, PharPoint develops an action plan with all involved organizations that clearly identify and communicates the roles, responsibilities and activities needed to reach a successful and timely study conclusion. PharPoint works with the EDC vendor on the sponsors behalf to ensure a comprehensive and cost effective budget and study plan. As your study enrolls subjects, PharPoint follows and tracks system performance and data completion against the plan, ensuring that your study stays on track.
Medrio
Medrio is a robust EDC system that combines an innovative system design with a straightforward costing approach that provides an affortable EDC solution that is quick to deploy. Medrio supports the EDC system development and hosting only, leaving the project design to PharPoint's experienced programmers and data managers. With this approach of Medrio supporting the system and PharPoint creating and maintaining the project setup, it creates a best-of-breed combination of system and services. This combination also greatly reduces product setup time and gives PharPoint data management the control to create and maintain the system to support our sponsors. PharPoint provides all services related to data management and EDC study development including database build, edit check programming and study deployment. PharPoint can provide full end-user support services including user training and ongoing help desk support, giving our sponsors a single point of contact for their EDC projects. In addition, Medrio supports data exports on demand, removing the bottleneck of waiting for external EDC resources to provide data for analysis.
Medidata
Medidata's Rave is one of the industry's leading EDC platforms, possessing a powerful set of system features with an intuitive and flexible interface that enhances the efficiency of the processing of clinical trials. PharPoint is a member of Medidata’s ASPire to Win® channel partnership and has been formally trained by Medidata to be able to offer our sponsors the highest quality service when utilizing Medidata’s RAVE system. In addition, Medidata has developed technology partners that provide seamless integration with its systems with other industry technology needs, such as IVRS and CTMS systems, so can handle complex, multinational projects with relative ease. As a Medidata partner, PharPoint can provide all study system design and data management activities, including database build, specifications, programming and project management and oversight in combination with use of the Rave system.
